From the United States Postal Service licensed collection, this metal sign has a beautiful rendering of the B-24 Liberator.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was used by every branch of the United States military during WWII as well as other Allied forces. Although the B-24 was faster, could carry more and had a greater range than the B-17 Flying Fortress, it was more difficult to fly, and due to the placement of the fuel tanks it had a tendency to catch fire.
Despite this, the Liberator is the most-produced American military aircraft in history with over 18,400 units. Its success in WWII was thanks to its high payload and its long range.
This metal sign is handmade in the USA using heavy gauge american steel and a process known as sublimation, where the image is baked into a powder coating for a durable and long lasting finish. Sign is drilled and riveted for easy hanging.
