Illustrated by John Falter in 1943, this poster encourages women to enlist in the WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service). The WAVES' official name was the U.S. Naval Reserve (Women's Reserve). They, similarly to the WAC (Army) and the SPARS (Coast Guard), were a part of the effort to free up male servicemen for deployment overseas.
