During WWII, American graphic artist J. Howard Miller helped promote the wartime motto "We Are All In This Together" when he was hired to create a series of posters to support the war effort, the most iconic being the Rosie the Riveter "We Can Do It!" poster. Replacing men who had gone off to war, six million women began working at manufacturing plants. To this day, Rosie the Riveter is a symbol of the contribution and empowerment of women.
