Description

Rosie the Riveter Cotton Sweatshirt

During World War II, due to a gross shortage of manpower, through the factory gates flooded an army of woman power. Mothers, daughters, secretaries, wives and even schoolgirls picked up the factory duties the men had left behind. Over six million female workers helped to build planes, bombs, tanks and other weapons that would eventually win World War II. They stepped up to the plate without hesitation and gave up their domestic jobs to accomplish things that only men had done before them.

Many slogans were created in order to inspire women to devote their time to help win the war. One slogan has stood the test of time and is the most recognizable women empowerment picture; Rosie the Riveter in working clothes under the saying "We Can Do It" was the mantra for women around the United States. It is a truly inspirational picture.

You can now display this image with pride just as the working women of the war did by purchasing this great Rosie the Riveter Sweatshirt. This item will be sure to keep you warm and cozy and at the same time help you make a statement of empowerment.

    Sweatshirt

Great sweatshirt, great quality - love it. But this sweatshirt depicts what is actually J. Howard Millers poster for Westinghouse. He painted posters during World War II in support of the war effort, among them the famous We Can Do It! poster, frequently misidentified as Rosie the Riveter. Norman Rockwell did the Rosie the Riveter painting, which is different? Maybe correct that?

We bought this shirt for my mother who was a Rosie during WWII. She loves it and wants to wear it everyday.
