The United States Air Force did not come about until the National Security Act of 1947. Before that and throughout WWII, the Air Corps, as it was called, was a part of the United States Army.

The patches are lovely, bright colors, however the "Iron on" aspect does not seem to work very well. I just sewed on one of the patches on by hand and I'm going to have to do the same with another one.
I wish the iron-on feature worked better.
