B17 Flying Fortress Silver Hot Wings 4" x 5" Diecast Model with Runway Piece
Collect the Whole Fleet!
Dubbed the "Flying Fortress" because of its dependable durability, the B-17 bomber was a workhorse in European missions during WWII. With its long-range bombing capabilities, its defense systems, and its ability to sustain heavy damages and still reach its destination, the B-17 Flying Fortress gained mythic status during WWII. B-17s dropped more bombs during WWII than any other U.S. aircraft.
Make sure to visit The National WWII Museum's very own B-17 Flying Fortress "My Gal Sal" located in our gorgeous Boeing Center at our campus in New Orleans, LA!

Beauty with a Heartbeat and Worth It
I have always admired the men and women of all races who fought for our freedom to just live here on Earth. Although no men and officers of color here in the Us flew Flying Fortresses many were trained to do so. So this is for all men and WAAFS who did learn how to fly these planes. Now today we have many people of all races who do this. I am LJ Steele,MA a retired History Educator and am related by marriage( on my mom's side of th family) to a Tuskegee Airman who trained many of the 99th Pursuit Squadron gentlemen. He was from North Wilksboro, NC. LJ Steele,MA
