Their achievements, together with the men and women who supported them, paved the way got full integration of the U.S. Military. While some were pilots, others served as technicians, radio operators, medical personnel, quartermasters, parachute riggers, mechanics, bombardiers, navigators, meterologists, control tower operators, dispatchers, and cooks. The pilots were educated at Tuskegee University (formally Tuskegee Institute) and trained at Moton and Tuskegee Army Air Fields, Alabama.
