Description
US Roundel Tee by Red Canoe
These comfortable t-shirts feature the aircraft roundel of the United States Army Air Corps. The United States Air Force did not come about until the National Security Act of 1947. Before that and during WWII, the Air Corps, as it was called, was a part of the United States Army.
The U.S. aircraft roundel has changed many times. This roundel was used until shortly after Pearl Harbor when officials realized the red dot in the center could be confused with the red dot on the Japanese flag (referred to as the "meatball" by Allied personnel). In May 1942 the red dot was eliminated, leaving only a white star inside a blue circle. Any planes in service at the time painted over the red dots with white paint.
These 100% Cotton T-shirts are washed after printing - eliminating shrinkage and adding vintage appeal.
