Description
WWII Most Wanted Art Playing Cards
Hundreds of thousands of works of art and other cultural objects remain missing since the end of World War II. The Monuments Men Foundation has, to date, found and returned thirty such objects to their rightful owners, but a parallel objective to those efforts is to raise public awareness about just how many objects remain missing to engage the general public in the search.
The Monuments Men Foundation has created a deck of playing cards, printed in the US by the same manufacturer of Bicycle playing cards, featuring the most important works of art stolen during WWII whose whereabouts are unknown, but which they have every reason to believe survived the war. The selections have been made in collaboration with auction houses, museum directors, and the legal representatives of heirs. Heirs to these missing works are hopeful that heightened visibility will result in tips that lead to the recovery of their long-lost art.
To create an added incentive for people all over the world to participate, the Foundation will give a monetary reward of up to $25,000 to anybody providing information that directly results in the recovery of one of these masterpieces.
Will you join the hunt?

For lovers of Art
Well made, sturdy cards. Excellent description - Name of piece, date painted, who the artist is, who owned the piece, and what is believed to have happened to the piece.

PLAYING CARDS OF STOLEN ART DURING WW II
This presentation of 52 notable works of art missing since being looted in WW II is a powerful testament to the destructive impact of war on our cultural heritage. We owe a debt to the creators, the Monuments Men Foundation, for giving us this amazing display of art some of which will never be recovered, despite the cash rewards promised in the cards.

WWII Stolen Art Playing Cards
I am disappointed that this Art Deck is mostly in Black and White. The cards are photos of artwork. Why are they not printed in Color.
