The World War II letters of Alton resident James Harrison Killion Jr. have been compiled into a book, “A Black Soldier’s Letters Home, World War II 1943-1945,” by Jim Killion III. The book and some of the surviving original letters will soon be housed in the history archives of the National WWII Museum in New Orleans.
