Description

Army Air Corps Cufflinks

Emblem Dimensions: .75 inches in diameter

First used in 1917, the five pointed star, on a circular blue field with a red center dot, was the standard insignia used to identify US military aircraft from August 1919 to May 1942. The insignia is often associated with the US Army Air Corps, where it was incorporated as a winged-star device with a red center dot on the shoulder patches worn by their personnal. Though no longer in those colors, the star with the center dot insignia is still worn by US Air Force personnel to this day.
